Ian Shoales & Joshua Raoul Brody
“SLOUCHING TOWARDS DISNEYLAND”
IAN SHOALES TAKES ON THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD
Merle “Ian Shoales" Kessler (aka Merle Kessler) and Joshua Raoul Brody present a history of the world - from the Big Bang of pre-yesteryear to the bleating blogs of today.
“SLOUCHING TOWARDS DISNEYLAND” plays __________at ____________.

Kessler and Brody have a long history of collaboration, ranging from their first hit show, “TABLE FOR ONE,” to their last San Francisco sold-out show “BROKE,” in 2005.
Merle Kessler is a founding member of Duck’s Breath Mystery Theatre, as is director Bill Allard. Besides chewing the scenery with the Ducks for years, Kessler also created his vitriolic alter ego, Ian Shoales, whose words have appeared in the New York Times and Washington Post. His alarming visage was also seen on ABC’s “World News Now” for years, and he can now be heard on public radio’s popular new show “Philosophy Talk.” Joshua Raoul Brody has been a legendary fixture in the Bay Area for years, and has been found accompanying improv groups like True Fiction Magazine, or backing up the Residents, Tom Waits, Robin Williams, and, yes, Florence Henderson.
Now Kessler and Brody have pooled their resources for a more ambitious assault on ithe history of the world. It is all here: the sweep of history, of brooms, of old worlds and new, of memes, dreams, and schemes. Why do we dream of imaginary places? Why is there always better than here? Why do used car lots all have giant inflatable gorillas? These questions, and more, will be explored.
